Best I’ve found.

I have hours of interviews to transcribe for a book I’m writing. I wanted to be able to do transcription without having to manage both my digital recorder and a laptop. This app works very well; I especially like that it enters a time stamp every time you hit Enter while you’re typing, so it’s easy to go back and find a relevant place in the recording later on. You can save transcriptions as rtf files directly from the app; I’d prefer Word files but maybe that’s not possible.

What would make this a five-star app: The ability to speed up playback as well as slow it down; sometimes you just want to skip past stuff.
